We develop concepts for functioning material cycles in the spirit of a sustainable and responsible economy. The amount of packaging waste, plastics and difficult-to-separate materials continues to grow worldwide. Collecting, sorting and recycling them into usable materials is extremely complex. As global recycling professionals with over 30 years of experience, we specialise in solving precisely these challenging tasks and transforming them into circular loops. With new concepts and products, we also help companies and institutions to achieve their sustainability goals quickly and efficiently.
Founder John E. Toft
John Toft initially worked in the international textile industry before moving into the field of secondary raw materials in 1994. Multiple languages, extensive knowledge of materials and specialisation in the recycling of plastics make him a valued partner and problem solver for companies in over 30 countries.
In 2017, TheKnot was founded to provide a central point of contact for the accumulated expertise and worldwide contacts. TheKnot has answers to questions about restructuring plants or setting up companies, offers advice, carries out analyses, develops strategies and solutions and helps to set up systems for purchasing, processing and sales.
Since 2022, TheKnot has expanded its portfolio. In addition to a wide range of sustainability projects, it advises companies and institutions on everything from circular cycles to renewable energies. Today, John views TheKnot as a holistic consultant and partner for companies on the path to sustainable business.
